Helping  you achieve

your dream and step

into the spotlight.

This industry is very competitive. There are so many fantastic colleges and universities that offer professional training in performing arts that it can be a daunting and difficult task to find which journey is right for you. Every college is looking for something slightly different; something unique to them. Aspiring performers need to stand out at the application and audition stages.

That is where Future Performers can help.

Equity Member since 2002

How we help . . .

Professional training in your chosen subject is an extremely specialised subject. Dance, musical theatre or teaching are just some of the paths you may want to follow and all require an enormous level of commitment and determination. You will be expected to dance, sing and act for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, so it requires a young person to be 100% dedicated.

We cannot guarantee you a place but we can advise you the best way possible so you can enter this process knowing you have given it your best shot!

Behind every dancer who believes in them self, is a teacher who believed
in them first.

Future Performers’ goal is to give you the best guidance to help you achieve your dream of studying full time at a college or university doing what you love.

You may currently be attending a local dance school several times a week and are interested in pursuing one of the performing arts subjects at college when you finish school. Perhaps you went to your local college at 16 to study your chosen subject and want to audition for professional college or university next.

There is a lot to research and prepare

  • Where would you like to study
  • Which college or university offers what you want
  • Open and taster days
  • Audition photographs
  • How to prepare your audition song and music
  • Preparing a solo dance piece
  • Choosing and preparing monologues
  • What to expect at each audition
  • Funding
  • Accommodation

Parents . . .

As parents we all want to help our children follow their dreams and have a career in something they are passionate about. However, with something so specialised it is often difficult to know how to be of any help. We aim to make this process an exciting time and to assist you in making their dreams a reality.

About Tessa . . .

From a young age I attended Ballet and Modern dance. At 16 I auditioned and gained a place at The Hammond School, Chester and studied a 3-year diploma in Modern Theatre Dance. I then went on to travel in Europe as a professional dancer and finally became a resident dancer in a touring circus in Greece and Italy.

“ Tessa's background in dance and her wealth of knowledge in this field is  invaluable to my older students who are applying and preparing for the audition process  ”

SCHOOL OF DANCE

Equity Member since 2002

After marrying my husband who was a high wire artist from South America, we went on to open our own circus in Venezuela with his family. My dance training led to my main role as choreographer and stage director.

Now back in the UK I have run a circus skills business and more recently have been teaching children’s dance, Zumba Fitness and Salsa Dance. My daughter has decided she too would like a career as a dancer and I recently supported her through the whole audition process and realised how much has changed and as a result I have become extremely passionate about helping our “Future Performers” prepare for their journey through this highly competitive process.
