Acro
In this section we are focusing on Acro. As you will know, Acro has become hugely popular in the dance world over the last few years. Many dance schools now offer classes and workshops. Perhaps you have Acro skills or maybe you arrived at your full-time training with no Acro experience, this can still be something worth looking into to enhance your prospects for your career.
It is now possible to become a Certified Acro Instructor or Assistant Acro Instructor, even if you have no Acro skills yourself but are a dancer!
With a huge demand for Acro classes and the extra opportunities dancers/performers may have when seeking employment if they have these skills and/or qualification, we at Future Performers have included some helpful information here for you, whether it is learning some basic Acro, improving your skills or adding Acro Instructor to your CV!
Future Performers have collaborated with ACROTRIX to bring you some key information.
Thank you for sharing your expert advice Peter. Can you tell us a little bit about your background and what inspired you to launch Acrotrix?
I have a passion for acrobatics and have been involved in the performing arts industry for many years, both as a performer and a coach. Why, in your opinion, is it good to learn Acro if you are a dance student?
In my opinion, learning acrobatics can be incredibly beneficial for dance students. Not only does it help build strength, flexibility, and coordination, which are all important skills for dancers, but it can also help dancers become more versatile performers.
Acro can add a whole new dimension to a dance routine, and can help dancers stand out from the crowd. Plus, by learning acrobatics, dancers can gain a better understanding of their bodies and how to control them, which can lead to improved technique and overall performance.
But perhaps most importantly, learning acrobatics can help dancers become more confident performers. The thrill of executing a difficult acrobatic maneuver can be a huge confidence booster, and can help dancers overcome their fears and push themselves to new heights.
At Acrotrix, we understand the importance of acrobatics in the dance world, which is why we offer specialized acrobatic classes and online resources for dance students. Our expert coaches have years of experience working with dancers, and can help students of all skill levels improve their acrobatic abilities. So whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, we're here to help you take your skills to the next level!
If a dancer has no Acro experience, is it possible for them to become an Acro instructor with Acrotrix?
At Acrotrix, we believe that anyone with a passion for acrobatics and a willingness to learn can become an Acro instructor. While it certainly helps to have previous Acro experience, it is not a requirement for becoming an instructor with us.
We offer comprehensive training programs for aspiring Acro instructors, which cover everything from basic Acro techniques to teaching methodologies and safety protocols. Our programs are designed to be accessible to anyone with an interest in Acro, regardless of their previous experience.
Of course, becoming an Acro instructor does require a lot of hard work and dedication. It's not an easy job, but it can be incredibly rewarding for those who are up to the challenge.
So if you're a dancer with no Acro experience, but you're passionate about the art form and interested in becoming an Acro instructor, we encourage you to reach out to us at Acrotrix. We'd love to help you explore your options and take your first steps towards becoming an Acro instructor!
What are the benefits of becoming an Acro instructor if you intend to teach dance?
Becoming an Acro instructor can have many benefits for dance teachers who are looking to expand their skill set and enhance their teaching abilities.
Firstly, by becoming an Acro instructor, dance teachers can add a new dimension to their classes and offer their students a more well-rounded education. Acrobatics is an exciting and challenging art form that can help dancers improve their strength, flexibility, and coordination, as well as gain a better understanding of their bodies.
Secondly, teaching Acro can be a great way for dance teachers to diversify their income and increase their earning potential. By offering Acro classes in addition to their regular dance classes, teachers can attract new students and expand their customer base.
Finally, becoming an Acro instructor can be incredibly rewarding on a personal level. Teaching Acro is a great way to share your passion for the art form with others and help students achieve their goals. It's also a great way to continue learning and growing as a teacher, as there is always more to discover and new challenges to overcome.
At Acrotrix, we offer comprehensive training programs for aspiring Acro instructors, as well as ongoing support and resources for established instructors. We believe that by working together, we can help build a strong and vibrant community of Acro instructors and dancers, and help more students achieve their dreams.
In your opinion, what does it take to become a really great Acro instructor?
In my opinion, becoming a great Acro instructor takes a combination of knowledge, skill, and passion.
Firstly, an Acro instructor needs to have a thorough understanding of the art form, including the various techniques and safety protocols involved. This requires ongoing education and training, as well as a willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
Secondly, an Acro instructor needs to have excellent teaching skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with students of all ages and skill levels. This requires patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed.
Thirdly, an Acro instructor needs to have a strong sense of creativity and innovation. Acrobatics is a constantly evolving art form, and the best instructors are those who are able to think outside the box and come up with new and exciting ways to teach and perform.
Finally, an Acro instructor needs to have a deep passion and love for the art form. This passion is what will drive them to continually improve their skills and knowledge, and to inspire their students to do the same.
At Acrotrix, we believe that by fostering a community of passionate and knowledgeable Acro instructors, we can help more students achieve their dreams and reach their full potential. That's why we offer comprehensive training programs, ongoing support, and a wealth of resources for instructors who are dedicated to the craft.
What is the main difference between an Acro and Gymnastics instructor?
While both Acro and gymnastics involve performing complex physical maneuvers, there are some key differences between the two disciplines.
The main difference between an Acro and gymnastics instructor is the focus of their training. Gymnastics is a sport that involves performing specific routines on various apparatus, such as the balance beam, uneven bars, and vault.
Gymnastics instructors focus on teaching their students the specific skills and techniques required for these routines, as well as the strength and flexibility needed to execute them.
Acrobatics, on the other hand, is a broader category of physical performance that encompasses a wide range of skills and techniques. Acro instructors focus on teaching their students how to perform acrobatic maneuvers safely and effectively, using a variety of props and equipment such as aerial silks, trampolines, and tumbling mats.
Another difference between Acro and gymnastics instructors is the type of performance they are training their students for. Gymnastics is typically focused on competitive performance, with athletes competing against each other for scores and medals.
Acro, on the other hand, is often more performance-based, with students learning skills and routines that can be incorporated into stage shows, circus acts, and other types of performances.
At Acrotrix, we believe that both Acro and gymnastics have their own unique benefits and challenges, and we offer resources and support for instructors working in both disciplines. Whether you're an Acro or gymnastics instructor, we're here to help you improve your skills and help your students achieve their goals.
